Christmas Storytelling at Tower Bridge Exhibition
Published: 5 November 2009
5 to 6, 12 to 13 and 19 to 22 December
2009:
Sessions at 11am, 1pm and 3pm
Young visitors to Tower Bridge Exhibition will be getting into
the Christmas spirit this year with traditional Victorian
storytelling sessions at the most famous bridge in the
world.
For the first two weekends in December, and from the 19th
through to the 22nd, one of the spectacular high level Walkways at
Tower Bridge will be used for the telling of tales by a very
special guest. Mr Charles Dickens, celebrated author, is back in
London to read from one of his most accomplished and moving tales,
'A Christmas Carol'.
As well as exploring Tower Bridge and its history, visitors to
the Exhibition will enjoy a special opportunity to hear Mr.
Dickens’ thoughts on the Bridge, as well as extracts from the
famous novel, all from a spectacular viewpoint - overlooking the
city that gave him the inspiration for so many of his stories.
Each storytelling session will be conducted by a professional
storyteller in character, lasting approximately 30 minutes.
Sessions will start at 11am, 1pm and 3pm. Visitors will not
be required to book in advance, although each session will be
limited to availability.
Victorian Storytelling at Tower Bridge is included in the usual
admission price to Tower Bridge Exhibition: adults £7, concessions
£5, child £3. For further information please call 020 7403 3761 or
